I joined Mangino and Shelley on KDKA's Afternoon News program today to discuss if the Daith ear piercing is an effective treatment for migraines. While there is some evidence that the piercing can reduce migraines, the therapeutic benefit is temporary while regular acupuncture treatment is a very effective and long term solution.
I briefly discuss how treating points on the ear and other parts of the body can treat the head via acupuncture channels and through imaging, or superimposing a scaled down model of the whole body onto the ear, hand, or limb. I also explain that treating acu points further away from the head on the hands and feet are the most effective in curbing migraine pain.
Time flies when you're having fun! I look forward to joining Mangino and Shelley again soon to talk more in depth about the wonderful benefits and effectiveness of acupuncture.
